Mark middleton - head varsity coach

Mark is a proud Arizona Native with over 27 years of coaching experience.  He is a three year varsity letterman and a graduate of Prescott High School where he was all Division 1st team and all State 2nd team as 3rd Baseman.  His coaching career started right after high school as a Fall Ball coach with Yavapai College and soon was recruited by Stan Luketich (Desert Vista HS) as a Freshman Head Coach in 1990 for Moon Valley High School.  In 1991-1995 he continued to coach as the Freshman Head Coach, JV Assistant Coach and Hitting Instructor for the freshman, Junior and Varsity teams at Scottsdale Horizon High School under the direction Coach Eric Kibler.  While at Horizon, he had started instructing at the Doyle Baseball Academy (Az Chapter) traveling throughout the western US as an infield/hitting instructor.  In 1995, Mark received a Scholarship taking part in a Coach ran practice for Oakland College in Evansville, Indiana where he coordinated line-ups and was the  third-base coach.

From 1996 to 2005 Mark and his Father Ken had established the very successful Prescott Invitational Baseball Tournament, an all wooden bat tournament which took place purposely over Father’s Day weekend in Prescott, Az.  In 2002, Mark took over as Tournament Director and both Ken and Mark decided to retire it on its 15th Anniversary in 2005.

Mark was a Private hitting Instructor for the Metro Phoenix and outlying Areas of Az.   He was also an instructor for the Arizona Diamondbacks Youth Camp in Phoenix in 2003. When he wasn’t coaching he would volunteer his experience and love of the game by placing small clinics for local little league teams whenever he was asked.
In 2012, Mark moved his family and business to the Prescott area.  It was not long after he moved back home that he was soon approached to apply for a Hitting Instructor position at Chino Valley High School where he has been for the past two years.  Mark also works with the Yavapai College Baseball Program as an instructor in their long running youth camps.

Mark’s main objective as a coach is to teach, improve and develop the fundamentals of the game, emphasizing to players that to enjoy the game is to continue to become more successful at it.
